Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has unveiled a new mechanism to allow temporary registration of mobile phones belonging to overseas Pakistani's and Foreigners visiting to Pakistan. This initiative allows eligible users to register their personal mobile devices for a period of up to 120 days from the date of arrival in Pakistan without paying FBR taxes, ensuring seamless mobile connectivity during their short-term stay. This step is aimed at enhancing digital inclusion, improving convenience for visitors, reducing the use of unauthorized devices, and maintaining a secure and verified digital environment across the country. the authority said in a statement.

How to Register Free Temporarily Mobile Phone Registration
Follow these step-by-step instructions to register your device through the PTA DIRBS Device Registration System (DRS):
Step 1:
Go to: https://dirbs.pta.gov.pk/drs
Step 2:
Click on Sign up option on screen
Step 3:
Select Temporary Registration for Overseas Pakistani's and Foreign Nationals
Step 4:
In user type select an appropriate option
Step 5:
Enter your personal details:
- Overseas Pakistanis must provide the same CNIC and passport information used at immigration.
- Foreign nationals only need to provide passport details.
Step 6:
Create a password and check your email and SMS for verification link within 24 hours otherwise your request will be deleted automatically.
Step 7:
Click the verification link to activate your account.
Step 8:
Now enter the email and password in login form after clicking on “I agree” options appear on screen
Step 9;
select temporary registration for overseas Pakistani's and Foreign Nationals
Step 10:
Enter the required information and select the sim slots of your device
Step 11:
Enter your IMEIS in case you don't know the IMEIS dial *#06# from your mobile phone.
Step 12:
Provide your active mobile number registered under your name in Pakistan.
Note: If you don’t already have a Pakistani SIM in your name, you must get one before applying.
Step 13:
Select your respective mobile operator and submit your application.
Step 14;
You will receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your phone and email.
Step 15;
Enter the OTP code in the given field
Step 16:
Click on Submit your phone will be registered once details have been verified
Step 17:
Log in again to check your device registration status.
